I thought it was now time to really learn how to cook. So I got a new knife, new pan (La Creuset), a rice maker, a Blue Apron account and went to work.
Not sure I’ve learned anything specific on cooking but I have witnessed:
– All four smoke alarms going off at the same time
– Preparing the entire Blue Apron recipe and somehow still having three or four ingredients in front of me
– Staring at my plate of prepared food and comparing it to the Blue Apron picture at the top of the recipe and going .. “Damn, that doesn’t look anything like the picture”
– Looking up words like “drizzle and dash”
– Wondering if “add Cumin” was in my best interest (or if I had time)
– Looking at the receipts for the knife, pan and rice maker to determine their return policy
